The Latin term "Cultura" which has to do with cult, worship, or civilization, is where the word "culture" originates. Culture, as it relates to HRM, is learned information that individuals utilize to make sense of their experiences and form social behaviors. (Wright and Joynt, 1996)

Regarding the term "Culture," different authors have different perspectives. Several of these are listed below:

  • According to Coakley (2007), "ways of life that people create as they participate in a group or society" make up culture.

  • Culture, according to J.W. Salacuse (1998), is the set of socially transmitted rules, values, and behavioral patterns within a particular group.

  • According to K. Avruch (1998), culture is a product of personal experience; it is either something that people learn or develop on their own, or it is something that is socially transmitted to them by ancestors or peers.

In the globalized world of today, companies are welcoming more diversity in their workforces. But with diversity also comes the difficulty of successfully negotiating cultural differences. It takes a profound awareness of cultural quirks and the use of tactics that promote inclusivity and cooperation to manage a diverse workforce effectively. We'll look at some important tactics in this blog article for managing cultural differences and making sure a diverse team succeeds. Here in the modern, global workplace, cultural diversity has turned into one of many firms' distinguishing features. Although a multicultural workforce offers a diverse range of viewpoints, experiences, and skill sets, it also poses certain management issues.
